Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Best lunch value in town. Four star lunch for $10 or less. The service can be a little slow, but this is a place where you go to visit with a friend for lunch. The environment and amazingly welcoming staff make this THE place to relax a bit at lunch and then hit it hard at the office in the afternoon. The soups alone make it worth a try.

Sat for at least 20 minutes. No one ever came to take our order. Waiters were walking all around. When walking out, I said, "No one came to take our order." They just looked at us and said nothing.

5 stars are for the food and atmosphere. If I were to give stars taking the incredibly poor service and untrained waiter into account the restaurant would probably only get 2 stars...that being said don't let that keep you from going here!! The food is absolutely A-MAZ-ING! We went for lunch on October 24th when in Monroe visiting family. I had the Shrimp and Grits (which was actually a bed of creamy rich buttery jalapeno polenta topped with HUGE broiled shrimp and smothered with a spicy red sauce) this was to die for! When I ordered this $11 entree I had no idea that it would come with a cup of soup, HUGE delicious house side salad and side. It was a TON of food all for only $11. My dad ordered the Catfish entree and his too was an enormous amount of food. I will definitely be returning to Cascio's the next time I am in Monroe. - No Kids Menu but chef made Excellent chicken fingers and french fries to satisfy my 4 year old

Service was mediocre, had to wait a long time for service....and I was seating at the bar! The owner and bartender were airing out way too much information while I was attempting to eat. The food was ok, I wouldn't even say decent....but definitely over priced. Not near as fresh seafood as you would expect.

Had a great dinner last night at Cascio's. The service was great, attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the "Snapper Tony", which I heard was a favorite. A nice sized piece of snapper, grilled perfectly, with lump crab on top. Very good, and I liked having the option of a baked sweet potato on the side. Creme brulee for dessert. Will definitely return.
